 There is a small sandy beach in front of Kiveli Villas that is prohibited from the waves if it has strong wind. This is secially important if you have kids swimming. The wind can be 8 Beaufaurt ( that very rarely happens at Milatos) and you and your kids can swimm very safely at clear waters . There are  another 2 big beaches in 1 km from the center of village . The first one is stony and the second one is sandy when you enter the sea and by seaside is with small stones. The water sea is very clear.  

Nearby at Malia there is the Malia palace beach which is very long and sandy and it is a famous beach .

Another famous beach is at Kolokytha - Spinalonga island at Elounda with hawaian tropical style and clear blue sea water . Combine one day tour to Spinalonga and ask to visit and swim at Kolokytha beach or go by car (much better !!!)  to Kolokytha beach .
