i.laouto accompanies measuredly and harmonically the lyra or the violin. Many times Lute is used as a soloistic instrument.
ii.Lira is known in the Hellenic place since 9th century, it is unknown when it was starting it's use in Crete.
iii.The violin used at west and east countys. Especially in east Crete, Efstratios Kalogeridis helped to it's propagation.
iv.The Mantolin is used in Center and East Crete rarely as an instrument of melody and accompanies lyra and violin. Guitars are used at the same places only as a companion for violin.
v.Bulgari use is limited in Crete. At the older times it was a common melody instrument. Also, it accompanies lyra.
Wind:
vi.The flute has cut the place where the player blows and it is closed with piro. On the cylinder, where the piros ends, there are six holes which are used for the melody.
vii.Mantura has 4 - 6 holes and it is made in different sizes. A variant of mantoura is diplomantoura.
viii.Askomantountoura is usually played at open air place, stands alone or accompanies lute. This instrument is well known in the old times but today it is going to be disappeared.
Percussion:
ix.The Ntaoulaki about a little tabor which is played with two sticks, the ntaouloksila. In the old times it was well known at east Crete.
Today the ntaoulaki has been dissapeared.
