Summer

I am a teacher from western Canada that travelled to Crete in the summer of 2003. My wife, myself and another couple were fortunate enough to book a six night stay at the Kiveli Villas this past July. The villas were wonderful. There were so many windows that we never even used the air conditioning. Each bedroom had a private balcony and the kitchen was adequately equipped to prepare most meals. The location near the small sheltered beach was perfect for afternoon and evening dips. Having access to the swimming pool down the road was also nice when a sand - free day was preferred. The selection of restaurants in Milatos was good and there are several markets to buy supplies. The village of Epano Sissi had the best restaurant on all of Crete, and we were in about 50 during our three week stay all over the island, which was named Pythari. It doesn't have a sign. If you are driving from Milatos it is on the left hand side. There are several beaches within 20 min. from Milatos and in under an hour you can be to many different places, Agios Nikalos, Elounda and even to Heraklion. Milatos was economical and relaxing. I would return if I come back to Crete.
