If you are seeking for a break in a nice looking place you should choose Milatos. Located in front of the fishers harbour of Milatos you can have breakfast with a view to the sea. Wonderful and so calm to start the day.
Later on if you have children you can proceed to Mallia's fun beach where evertything is really made for entertainment. The entry is free and you can stay on the public beach freely (sun beds also !!).
In Milatos you'll also find good restaurants for dinner and you can appreciate to have dinner late in the evening, even until 11 p.m.
As far as Kiveli villas are concerned, the apartments are very confortable and you have enough space to put all your things. Maria Georgiou and her husband will welcome you when you arrive and they'll also look for everything to be allright you can be sure of that.
As far as we, my husband, my daughter and myself are concerned, appreciated our stay very very much and look forward to come again next summer.

My wife Susan and I had a very restful and delightful stay at Kivelli Apartments and Vagelas and Maria made sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. Our apartment was absolutely delightful with room to spare and all amenities that we required. A car is essential to fully appreciate Crete but Milatos has nice resturants and next door is the No Name tavern serving meals and drinks at whatever time of day you require. We travelled to Agios Nikolaos and the Lassithi Plateau which is brilliant and untouched by commerce but I suspect not for long. Milatos will become more commercial as time goes on of that I am certain but presently quiet and simple and truly delightful. Sue and I fully intend to return at the next opportunity which looks like being some time away unfortunately.......

Linda and myself with our daughter spent a great week in Milatos. The 2 appartments we had were above our expectations.
If you want a holiday away from the crowds this is definateley a place I would recomend. The local restaurants are all excellent, but of them all go to Socrates. He cooks the fish himself and he is an excellent host.
You certainly can dio with a car to explore the island as there are only 2 buses which go early in the morning. You can walk to Sssi along the coastal road probably about an hour.
Maria and Vagelis, the owners are very friendly and speak excellent English.
Turn left along the front to the small hotel and you are welcome to use their pool, most of the time we had it to ourselves.

Holiday at Milatos - Kiveli Apartments

If you are thinking of having a blissful week in a place where the sun shines, the people are unbelievably friendly, food is delicious and the wine flows, then Milatos is the place for you. My husband Phil, daughter Frankie and me holidayed in late July/early August 2004 and didn't want to come home. We were looking for a place where we could just laze about and have the occasional swim, and de-stress. We didnt even bother hiring a car, as the point of the holiday was to do nothing. Frankie met a little boy of around her own age, so she was happy and safe, snorkelling on the little beach in front of the apartments. The friendly Bar 'No Name' OH YES! was a great place to sit and sample their Mai Tai's and Long Island Iced Tea. Maria is a lovely person, nothing is too much trouble for her. We would definitely go again. Wish I was there now....

Voor wie intresse heeft in een rustige vakantie op Kreta kunnen we
Van Ronny Switten,arbeider en Diana Vanderstraeten,bediende uit Belgiê.

Milatos aanbevelen. We hebben er 14 dagen verbleven bij Kiveli Villas.
We hadden er een studio met 3 bedden,kookhoek,badkamer en 2 terrasjes voor een prijs die meer dan fair is.De zee ligt aan de overzijde van de straat waar dagelijks een tiental auto's passeren.Er is een prettig cafe vlak bij de deur "Bar No Name"en er zijn een aantal restaurants op wandelafstand. We hadden een wagen gehuurd via Maria Sergiou, onze gastvrouw, wat wel aan te raden is daar Milatos wat afgelegen ligt.
Dus voor wie geen vakantie wil op overvolle stranden is Milatos zeker een aanrader.

Our August holiday to Kiveli apartments

Myself, my husband and my two young boys had a lovely stay in Milatos, and the 2 bedroomed apartment we stayed in was excellent. Milatos itself is lovely, and the people are very friendly. There is an excellent bar right by the apartments, and if you turn right as you come out of the bar there are a few really lovely restaurants right on the sea front serving excellent food. We would however suggest a car as Milatos is very quiet and only has a very small beach right by the apartment, and there are some lovely beaches around so a car is vital in order to be able to see these. We travelled into Sissi a couple of times which is only a 10 minute drive away, and there are numerous restaurants and shops etc here. We would also recommend a trip to Water City, again you need a car to get here, which our children thought was fantastic, and there are plenty of rides for older children. Crete is a very beautiful island, and we would definitely consider taking a holiday here again in the future. Lisa, Stuart, Luke and Jordan Tavener from the UK

Folks,
If you are reading this you are probably interested in a holiday in Crete and are looking for somewhere to stay. I have been to Milatos 4 times over the last fifteen years, 3 times with my wife and children, staying at self catering accomodation within the village. In July 2004 my wife and myself decided to holiday in Crete this time without the kids who are now 22 & 24. The first place we considered was Milatos.We searched for accomodation and found milatos.com We booked via Maria who was very helpfull. We had a relaxing week which passed all too quickly.The accomodation was excellent, the food (in the the local taverna's) was good, the wine and beer was very drinkable. All in all I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet (small fishing village) type holiday.If you go there have drink for me in the "no name" taverna. Incidentally we are hoping to return for another week at the end of September.

ich moechte mich recht herzlich bei Dir fuer den ein-woechigen Sommerurlaub in den Kiveli Apartements in Milatos auf Kreta bedanken.
Du hast uns sehr herzlich empfangen, der Wein wurde bereits am ersten Abend gekostet und von uns allen sehr genossen.
Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen, die Apartements waren sauber und in gutem Zustand. Wir haben uns jeden Morgen auf das Fruehstueck auf dem Balkon gefreut. Der nahe Strand war toll zum kurzen Abkuehlen am Abend. Milatos ist ein ruhiger, gemuetlicher Ort, die Tavernas haben wirklich gutes Essen angeboten. Auch die Entfernungen zu allen interessanten Stellen (Strand, Spass, Kultur und Altertum) war akzeptabel und von daher koennen wir wirklich sagen, dass wir Kreta kennengelernt haben und uns auf ein Wiedersehen freuen.

Im Mai 2003 haben meine Lebensgefährin und ich zwei Wochen in den recht
neuen Kiveli-Apartments, in Milatos auf Kreta verbracht. Haben uns sehr wohl
gefühlt. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Ruhe in dem kleinen Ort und die
schöne Natur abseits der Tourismus-Hektik. Das kleine Apartment ließ kaum
Wünsche offen. Gute Ausstattung. Wir hatten beim Frühstück auf dem sonnigen
Balkon einen herrlichen Blick auf die schöne Bucht und den kleinen Hafen.
Von Milatos erreicht man nach kleiner Gebirgsfahrt die südliche
Hauptverbindungsstraße, über die man Inselausflüge in alle Richtungen machen
kann. Ohne Mietwagen geht´s aber nicht. Die Vermieter sind sehr sympathisch
und haben Niveau (Lehrer).
Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Empfehlenswert für Individualisten.
